Gulf Breeze News Hosts Candidate Forum, Aug. 11

Candidates vying to represent Gulf Breeze area voters in the United States Congress, Florida House of Representatives, Santa Rosa County Commission and Santa Rosa School District are invited to attend a Candidate Forum hosted by Gulf Breeze News on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Gulf Breeze Middle School Cafeteria beginning at 6 p.m.

Candidates may mingle with voters beginning at 5:30 p.m. when the doors open.

With a field exclusively made up of Republican candidates, the Santa Rosa County commission races will likely be decided at the primary election on Aug. 18. In District 2, there are six candidates, including the incumbent, Kerry Smith, and that race may result in a runoff if no candidate secures 50% of the vote. In District 4, incumbent Ray Eddington faces one challenger, Dean Light. Both are Republicans.

Santa Rosa County races are “at large,” and races for each district are open to all registered Santa Rosa voters.

The event is free and open to the public.
