Beach Church Celebrates 50 Years, Asks For Donations
A Heartfelt Letter from the Pensacola Beach Community Church
This year, Pensacola Beach Community Church (The Beach Church) celebrates 50 years of service. For half a century, our church has been a place of worship, fellowship, comfort, celebration, and community. As we look toward the next 50 years, we are asking what it means to continue serving Pensacola Beach today and into the future.
We believe our church is more than a place of Christian worship. It is also a community resource—a place where the spiritual, civic, and social life of Pensacola Beach come together.
Our doors have always been open to the broader community. We serve as an election polling place, host events for the local elementary school, and have partnered with the Pensacola Beach Woman’s Club since our founding. We provide a home for the Optimist Club and Pensacola Beach Advocates, host the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival, and serve as a staging area for hurricane relief efforts. Families gather here to remember and celebrate loved ones, while our Christmas and Easter services welcome both longtime residents and visitors. Countless other meetings and gatherings take place within these walls.
In many ways, the story of this church is intertwined with the story of Pensacola Beach.
Today, however, we face a significant challenge. The loss of substantial rental income, along with changes in our community’s population and religious makeup, has placed the church in a tenuous financial position. At the same time, extensive exterior repairs are needed to address water intrusion, rotting wood, and stucco replacement, with estimated costs of $40,000–$50,000.
Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and useful gathering place requires resources that our congregation can no longer provide on its own.
That is why we are reaching beyond our membership to ask for the support of our friends, neighbors, businesses, civic organizations, and community members—everyone who has experienced The Beach Church as a place of welcome, fellowship, support, and service.
We invite you to help us preserve this special place. Every contribution, large or small, will help address these critical repairs and protect a facility that serves far more than our congregation. Your support will help ensure that this remains a place where people worship, gather, grieve, celebrate, organize, respond to emergencies, and simply come together as a community.
For 50 years, this church has been part of the fabric of Pensacola Beach. Together, we can help ensure it remains part of this community for generations to come.
Thank you for all you have done to make Pensacola Beach the special community it is, and thank you for considering this invitation to help us continue serving it.
With gratitude and hope for the future,
Pensacola Beach Community Church
