Zero Distance Race Raises Funds for Dog Rescue

Glenn Dorsey has a big heart for rescue dogs, and a quirky sense of humor. He is the founder of the Pensacola Beach 0.0K Beer Run, which is set for Saturday, August 30 at 11 a.m. “We don’t run, we just have fun,” says Dorsey. “I cover all the costs to put this race so I can give away 100 percent of the money.”

You can register online or come as early as 10 a.m. to The Sandshaker on Pensacola Beach. The party starts at 10:30 a.m. and the “Run” is at 11 a.m. For $35, each entrant gets their first place award and a t-shirt, plus the satisfaction of helping rescue dogs in our area. From that point, the Pub Crawl starts and participants follow the DJ to the next location on the Beach.

“Each bar will have an amazing contest such as the Chug-a-Mug, the Mankini Contest, and the Ladies Bathing Suit Competition,” Dorsey added. “And there’s a secret contest we can’t yet tell you about.”
