Sunny Skies and Spring Break Lead To High Car Counts At Beach

The Bob Sikes Toll Facility, for the first time this year, counted more than 25,000 cars in a single 24 hour period on Saturday, March 14. The sunny skies, warm weather and green flag conditions, drew beachgoers by the thousands.  Additionally, it was the first Saturday of Spring Break for area schools and many colleges around the region.

Here are the car counts provided by Ty Jones, Escambia County Toll Bridge Specialist for the Bob Sikes Toll Plaza:
