SRIA Board Changes. Timothy Resigns, Marrocco Fills Seat
The Santa Rosa Island Authority District Four Appointee Elizabeth Timothy resigned her seat on the Board. Her final meeting was March 25. Escambia County District Four Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger appointed Marc Marrocco to the seat. His appointment was approved by the Escambia Board of Commissioners on March 26.
Both Timothy and Marrocco are Pensacola Beach leaseholders.
Timothy, who tendered her resignation because of personal family circumstances, wrote to Commissioner Hofberger on February 26, “I have recently come to realize that I cannot commit to continue serving to the fullest extent that you would want and expect (and the extent to which the leaseholders and other stakeholders deserve).”
Her family obligations require that she travel to Louisiana with greater frequency, not allowing the time necessary for SRIA board service. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
Timothy, a former judge and practicing attorney, was appointed in 2024. In her final comments at the March 25 SRIA Board meeting, Timothy further explained her resignation, and then left some sage advice.
“I am a firm believer in civility and professionalism. I am a firm believer in making a point persuasively without raising voices and being rude. I have seen both in this forum, and I just hope that moving forward, that everyone is treated with respect.”
Marrocco, whose been a leaseholder since 2020, is the founder of the commercial real estate firm, MG Retail Partners. He lives on Pensacola Beach with his wife and children.
Marrocco’s first SRIA meeting will be Wednesday, April 8.
