Drivers Use Caution Coming To the Island: Temporary Lane Closures on Southbound Bob Sikes Bridge
The southbound right lane of the Bob Sikes Bridge along County Road 399 will experience temporary lane closure while construction crews perform work within the roadway. This work is necessary for the installation of bridge-mounted conduit to supply the new fiber optic infrastructure to Pensacola Beach and the new tolling gantry.
The temporary lane closure will begin on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and is expected to remain in effect for approximately (2) weeks, between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. The lane closure will be removed by 5pm each Friday and reinstalled by 8am on the following Monday during this (2) week period to ensure that weekend traffic is not impeded. Work within this area is expected to be completed by Friday, May 8, 2026.
