Smoke Testing Begins Jan 7 -

Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) crews will begin smoke-testing of the wastewater collection system lines on Pensacola Beach beginning Monday, January 7, 2019,  to determine if there are areas where stormwater or groundwater are entering into the sewer system.

Portions of Bob Sikes fishing pier reopen -
The Bob Sikes South Pier is open with the exception of the last 100 feet, and the Bob Sikes North Pier is open with the exception of the last 725 feet. The closed sections of the Bob Sikes Fishing Pier will be indicated with barriers, and will remain closed until further notice.

 
Beach Road Open - -

Highway 399 (J. Earle Bowden Way), the road between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach through the Santa Rosa Area is open. The Opal Beach facilities in clusters B and F are open.  Other clusters will open as soon as possible. Repair crews will begin working on bike lanes damaged in the Fort Pickens Area in January 2019.
