Island Times Trivia Question

Well, well, and well. Once again the Trivia Master has outwitted, outmaneuvered, out thought, out everythinged to shut down the world’s best and brightest trivia players. No one got the correct answer to the last issue’s trivia, except the venerable keeper of old Beach tradition, Sir Morrie Drees.

But, the TM did get a lot of answer to the question, “Which one of the beach restaurants receive the dubious award of Haute Cuisine,” loosely translated as serving the “worst gastronomical atrocities of any restaurant at the annual Beach Bum Awards?

 The answer was Butler’s.

The Breakfast Politicians used to sometimes have their sessions there, but they never ate anything which may have something to do with their longevity.

The other of you island folks who ventured into Beach restaurants are lucky to have survived the alleged ptomaine possibilities offered by many cafes.

HoJo’s was the answer given most frequently by Sire Morrie, lady Kim Schmitz, she who hardly ever sends wrong answers; and from the Duchess of the Dunes, who now calls herself the Duchess of Dialogue and Distress.

Other answers followed Sir Morrie’s second answer of Butler’s. They were all wrong including Lynda Knell who guessed Nero’s. (Did she ever have a Forklift Pizza?) and Jim Knell who offered Dirty Joe’s ( oh, remember those delicious shrimp kabobs and huge salads?). The Duchess submitted a laundry list of names, hoping for the best. Second guess, the Junkyard (had Delgado’s, Sun Ray, The Spinnaker, Soundside, Dirty Joe’s,  and the Tiki. Did they serve anything besides drinks and sealed bags of potato chips?

The Trivia Master soldiers on. Sir Offshore Chuck Brower thinks it was Dirty Joe’s or Miss Allie’s. Nope. Along comes Jayne Drees Redmond’s answer, Chan’s. Sorry, not correct.

And, Angeli McMillan of Gulf Breeze suggested Bobby D’s. Bobby served every drink ever invented and Orville Reddenbocker popcorn. Angeli said she needs a new shirt. Try again.

You better run, not walk, to your computer to answer this one. It’s so easy, it makes the Trivia Master want to take a nap. If you really would like a designer t-shirt, answer this simple question. What is President Barrack Obama’s middle name?

Email your answer now to islandtimes@bellsouth.net with trivia in the subject line. Be sure to include your name and phone number. The deadline to answer is September 27.
